From Comunanza to Foce (Montemonaco); 19,6 km; easy.
Comunanza is a village of ancient origins going back to the Neolithic period, but many vicissitudes have led to its current configuration, including the presence of the Knights Templar
in 1200, the phenomenon of banditry and its ultimate defeat.
Crafts such as cloth weaving and dyeing are still the main activities in the village.
Foce, at 932 m, is a small village inhabited by about 9 people during the winter, but more people live here during the summer.
The route climbs to Mount Vettore and to the Pilato Lake (1,949 m) where many other series of legends, myths and suggestions come into play, but the route proceeds towards Lake Gerosa and Monte Vettore which is reflected in its waters.
You find yourself on a flat road which, moving through various junctions, passes through small and sparsely populated towns and villages with very unusual names.
In the central square you will be greeted by the jokes of friendly local people and you can relax, because you have been brought back to a simple time and place where the only real trade is at the Taverna della Montagna, where you will eat like a prince!
Tourists are advised against travel in this area that has been affected by the earthquakes which occurred in central Italy in 2016.
