Services:

Day 1
Arrival in the Marche region. Lunch: free time. In the afternoon, tour of Loreto, famous for its stunning Basilica which, according to tradition, contains the house of the Virgin Mary. Hotel check-in, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2
After breakfast, departure for the Sanctuary of Macereto, located in the National Park of the Sibillini Mountains. Tour of the Sanctuary followed by departure for Tolentino, where we will visit the basilica dedicated to Saint Nicholas. Lunch: free time. After lunch, departure for the abbey
of Chiaravalle di Fiastra, which is also set within a natural reserve where we can see what the life of the monastic community used to be like and, depending on the weather, enjoy a guided excursion throughout the natural reserve. In the late afternoon, return to Loreto, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3
After breakfast, departure for Cupramontana, where we will visit the picturesque Eremo di San Giuseppe delle Grotte or “dei Frati Bianchi” (of the White Friars), a religious building complex built out of light-coloured bricks surrounded by nature. We will later visit another retreat, La Romita, commissioned by Saint James of the Marches. The remains of Blessed John Righi of Fabriano rest here. This is a place of peace where pilgrims can enjoy the silence and draw new energy. In the
late afternoon, arrival in Senigallia, hotel check-in, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4
After breakfast, departure for Corinaldo, hometown of Saint Maria Goretti. We will follow the “Goretti route”, the main stages in the blessed life of Marietta, walking along the streets of one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Lunch: free time. In the afternoon, return to Senigallia and tour of the seaside town. The Christian tradition of this town has its origin in the lives of fishermen and merchants, and its heart is, undoubtedly, the figure of Blessed Pius IX, who was born here. We will visit the house
where he was born, the Church of the Cross, the cathedral and other places linked to the Christian tradition of the town. In the late afternoon, return
to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5
After breakfast, tour of Serra de’ Conti, a small village with its fascinating museum dedicated to monastic arts. Pilgrims will be accompanied on their tour by the voices of the nuns at work. Later, transfer to Arcevia, a medieval village that has many works by the Della Robbia school and Luca Signorelli. Lunch: free time. In the afternoon,
transfer to the monastery of Fonte Avellana, a picturesque monastic building complex situated in the heart of the Apennines. We will visit the monastery rooms and, if the weather is good, enjoy a walk amongst the wonders of creation. In the late afternoon, arrival in Senigallia, hotel check-in, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6
After breakfast, departure for the land of the Montefeltro, on the trail of Saint Francis. Indeed, the Marche region has many itineraries linked to the Saint from Assisi. Arrival in San Leo, medieval fortress where, according to tradition, Saint Francis and Brother Leo passed through. Afterwards, departure for Mercatello, in the
Metauro Valley, where we can visit the church of Saint Francis, which contains a magnificent crucifix and a polyptych by the Giotto school, as well as
a memento of the mystic saint Veronica Giuliani. Lunch: free time. In the afternoon, departure for Urbino, the city of the Montefeltro Ducal Palace. It
hosts Franciscan places such as a Gothic church and a mausoleum linked to San Bernardino, as well as a Clarisse convent. In the late afternoon,
return to Senigallia, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7
After breakfast, departure for Fabriano, “sister town” to Assisi in the Middle Ages; Francis visited it often as two of his fellow soldiers lived here. Afterwards, transfer to the retreat of Santa Maria in Val di Sasso, in the Valleremita locality, where Saint Francis, Brother Egidio and Brother Simon of Assisi – and others after them – lived. Transfer to Genga. Lunch: free time. Tour of the village, paying special attention to two stunning religious buildings: San Vittore alle Chiuse and the Temple
of Valadier. Visit to the Frasassi Caves available on request. At the end of the day, departure for starting points.
